Type Setting

typesetting.jpgType setting is our first process in the production of pre printed stationery. This is where we through the use of graphic illustration software such as Adobe Illustrator, Freehand and Coral Draw create the layout for the artwork which is to be printed.
Type setting or graphic design in this form can be described as the process of combining photos, images and text to create a final result ready for print. These designs would have to conform with client requirements as well as industry standards in terms of layout, type size, colour, font style etc.
We would provide our clients with printed proofs for final approval before moving to the next part of the production phase.

Plate Processing

platemaking2.jpgBefore you can proceed with printing on a litho printer one would need the litho printing plate. We use the CTF(Computer to film) method for creating plates. This process involves printing from computer to film, thereafter the film is burned onto a lithographic plate using a plate burner. This process requires a clean environment, skilled workers and a thorough proofing system. Here at Good Old Printing all processing of plates are done in house, thus there is more control, better security and the entire printing process time is dramatically reduced.


Printing

perfector.jpgLitho Printing is a method for printing using a plate with a completely smooth surface.
The litho printing proceeds on Single or Multicolour Presses depending on the particular requirements of our clients needs.
Our litho printing process enables much longer and more detailed print runs which allow us to create high definition printing solutions. The Litho printing process is the most unrestrictive method and is the finest printing technique for large printing requirements

Varnishing

The in house water based varnishing of box cartons
An application of varnish to seal the outer surface of cartons with a light form of specially formulated print varnish

Quality Control

Before die-cutting, sheets are checked for any color variations and other possible print defect

Die-Cutting

die_cutting.jpgDie-cutting is the process of using dies to cut out labels, boxes, envelope blanks and other flat objects from spools or printed sheets. Dies are outsourced while the actual process  of cutting the carton to shape and size are all done in-house as per customer requirement.

Glueing

glueing.jpgIn order for the cartons to take form they need to be glued together to retain the desired shape.
Glueing is done in-house by hand or on a high-speed box-folder-gluer which could do up to 200m per minute.

Final Packaging

The final product is the packed and labelled into corrugated cartons
